Admission Eligibility

Review the basic eligibility requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate admission at Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat. Final admission is subject to entrance-test results, merit, document verification and the latest college or university notification.

Undergraduate Eligibility

Eligibility for admission to Semester I under the 2026-27 prospectus.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Minimum 40% aggregate
  • Passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with at least 40% aggregate in five papers.
  • English (Core) must be passed as a compulsory subject.
  • The chosen major subject must have been passed at Class XII, except Education and Sociology.
  • Sociology major requires 50% aggregate in 10+2.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Minimum 45% aggregate
  • Passed 10+2 in the corresponding science subjects with at least 45% aggregate.
  • English (Core) must be passed.
  • Candidates opting for CBZ must have passed Biology at the 10+2 level.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)

Minimum 40% aggregate
  • Passed 10+2 with at least 40% aggregate.
  • Arts or Science students are also eligible if they passed English (Core), Economics or Mathematics at Higher Secondary level.

UG Entrance Requirement

CUET
  • Admissions are conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in the concerned subject, as notified by RGU.
  • Candidates must qualify the required English or General Aptitude test and the test for the chosen major subject.
  • A three-year diploma after Class X, with English as a compulsory subject, is also eligible for the listed UG courses.

Postgraduate Eligibility

Applicable to M.A. English, Hindi, History and Geography.

Master of Arts (M.A.)

30 seats per department
  • Graduation under the 10+2+3 pattern from Rajiv Gandhi University or another recognised university.
  • Minimum 45% marks in the major subject concerned.
  • APST candidates receive a relaxation of 5 percentage points in the eligibility requirement.
  • New PG admissions are allocated through RGUCET (80%) and CUET (PG) (20%), as stated in the 2026-27 prospectus.
